Artist Statement:
My work lies within a realm of pure abstraction and reality that reflects the psychological experience of self-image and its impact on life and relationships. This way of sculpting is purely intuitive; I reference the body and nature to create imaginary abstractions that embody humanity. The presence of life within these abstract compositions invokes movement to represent the dynamic state of self-image. Through scale and form, my sculptures encourage self-exploration and show appreciation for the feminine experience. Life is abundant in my sculptures, and they emphasize the qualities of touch and the importance of being seen. My inspiration stems from my journey of self-discovery and mental health, as well as artifacts from the past. Ancient Venus figurines are a crucial source of how I depict the nature and abstraction of the body. These figurines embrace femininity and tactility; they are objects of reality, not idealized.
